Samantha Bartlett brings 30+ years across marketing, economic development project management, and hands-on small business ownership to SocioMotion — from running a £5m-budget development consultancy in Scotland to building a global marketing strategy for a startup in Southeast Asia to founding and growing her own Caribbean sailing business from scratch.
SocioMotion grew out of a simple observation: small businesses need the same competitive clarity and consistent content that big companies pay agencies for, without the agency price tag. The tools exist to give SMBs that edge — they just haven't been packaged in a way that works for a business owner who doesn't have a marketing department.
2009 – present
Founder — Yacht Ibis / Club Ibis
Saint-Martin, French West Indies
Built a Caribbean sailing-holiday business from zero: website, marketing, trip planning, guest experience, and 3,000+ nautical miles sailed each season. Every system — from booking flow to guest communications — built without agency support.
2007 – 2009
Freelance Marketing Strategist
Bali & Jakarta, Indonesia
Developed the global marketing strategy for a swimwear startup in Bali, and worked on green-energy project development in Jakarta — applying the same competitor-analysis rigour to an emerging-market context.
2001 – 2007
Managing Director — Hothouse World (UK) Ltd
Scotland, UK
Ran economic development projects under contract to Scottish Enterprise. Managed budgets up to £5m, grew a 10-person payroll, and led project delivery across rural regeneration, skills, and enterprise programmes.
